ThisGen 2020 Mentor

Spike is a Metis theatre artist and currently Technical director of The National Arts Centres Indigenous Theatre department. He studied production at the National Theatre School of Canada. Before moving to Ottawa to work at the NAC, Spike lived and worked in Montreal as a Lighting Designer, Production manager and Technical director. He has worked both locally and through touring across Canada and around the world. For many years he was a Production Manager and Technical director and designer for Festival Just For Laughs, the largest comedy festival in the world. He was also Production Manager and Lighting designer for the Comedian Russell Peters including two taped specials at the O2 Arena in London and the Allphones Arena in Sydney, Australia. He has been a passionate teacher sharing his experience at McGill, Concordia and University of Windsor as well as his alma mater The National Theatre School.
