Intisar Awisse is a theatre-maker, playwright, dramaturg, and editor.

As a playwright, her work includes Thing, Blackbird (Impact Festival), Painting the Sea (Groundswell Festival of New Work), Many Words for No (NTS), and We Be Splendid (Green Light Arts). She is a playwright-in-residence at Green Light Arts where she continues to develop her latest play.

Intisar was an inaugural ThisGen Dramaturgy Fellow with Why Not Theatre and further developed her dramaturgical practice with the support of the Metcalf Foundation for the Performing Arts and the Canada Council for the Arts. She has led various dramaturgy workshops and has been a guest lecturer for a number of institutions. Alongside her artistic practice, she is now the producer for the ThisGen Fellowship supporting theatre artists from across Canada.
