“A Brimful of Asha” available to stream for a limited time

If you were worried you missed the sold out international runs of A Brimful of Asha, you’re in luck! The show is back with a digital run from March 9th to 22nd with ArtsEmerson in Boston, MA. Co-Artistic Director Ravi Jain and his mother Asha take the stage to tell a true story of cultural and generational clash. Now’s your chance to watch the iconic Jain duo onstage — will Asha prove that Ravi’s wrong once and for all?

When Ravi takes a trip to India, his parents decide it’s the perfect time to introduce him to potential brides. Ravi isn’t sold on the idea of getting married—at least not yet—but Asha panics that time is running out. Full of laughs and heartache, this delightful family tale perfectly illustrates how, though both parents and children want the best future possible, they often can’t agree on the way forward. As Asha explains to her son, “You don’t get to choose your family, why should you choose your wife?”

“I’m not sure I’ve laughed so much during the pandemic as when I watched Brimful of Asha.” – Jared Bowen, Executive Arts Editor of GBH & Host of Open Studio. If you want to get your laugh on through the lockdown, grab your PWYCA (Pay What You Can Afford) tickets today. Make sure you don’t miss the premiere and live post-show conversation on Tuesday, March 9th, 7:30PM EST. Ravi and Asha will join moderator David Howse in a live conversation and Q&A about the making of the show. ASL interpretation will be provided.
