Tamara Balan is the Chief Operating Officer at CivicAction – a non-profit, city-building organization. A strategic leader both in-house and on city-building initiatives, she supports the governance, HR and IT functions and spearheads programs that tackle some of the toughest social and economic challenges urban regions faces.

Over her career, Tamara has focused on diversity in leadership, access to quality childcare, resident engagement and employer-led actions that level the playing field of opportunity for youth in Canada. She has helped build coalitions of civic leaders in business, government, academia and the community sectors.
